Here's How to Find Strength in Transition

Tuesday, November 12, 2024

Hey there, Chaos Breakers!

Last week, I hit some tough truths pretty hard, and I appreciate all the feedback and conversations it sparked with you and your families.

This week, I want to dive into living in the messy middle or a season of transition. Life never stays the same—seasons change, time passes, and so do the phases of our lives.

My family and I are about to embark on some significant life changes over the next few months. One major shift is a drop in income as I transition from a full-time employee to a project-based producer (aka consultant).

I’m excited but also terrified. After years of working "for the man" (or "for the Mouse" at Disney), being on my own scares me. I keep asking myself:

Can I support myself?

Can I break free from the routine I've had for over four years?

Can I really succeed on my own?

I’m sure these thoughts resonate with many of you. Being an entrepreneur often brings these questions to the forefront daily.

This transition isn’t just about my job. It affects every aspect of my work life—my schedule, my time on Zoom calls, and my ability to be fully present with my toddler son. It personally changes everything: from when I work out and have date nights to how we manage our home and finances.

Notice I said affected, not negatively or positively. Every decision comes with pros and cons. Instead of dwelling on fear and doubt, I want to leap into this transition with an open heart, mind, and spirit because so many exciting possibilities lie ahead.

For example, my husband and I dream of a life where we’re not dependent on 9-5 jobs. With this transition, neither of us will be tied to that schedule, bringing us one step closer to our dream life by design.

Also, Schweet Living is set to take off in the next year! While I haven’t shared much about my plans, I see it scaling massively over the next 1-3 years. I can't wait to roll out more in the coming months.

And most importantly, I’ll be a present momma and wife. We can travel when we need, and I can take my son to the science museum, zoo, and parks without waiting for the weekend.

These are tangible possibilities, but navigating the in-between—the messy middle—is uncomfortable. It's hard to release work responsibilities I worked so hard to establish and walk into an unknown future. But growth often comes from discomfort, and this new season is no exception.

Now, I’m accountable for my own successes and failures, not my coworkers, business dynamics, or available resources. That’s what makes any transition frightening yet exciting. These unknown moments define us by how we handle adversity, perseverance, and determination. The "messy middle" seasons are true leaps of faith, and I know many of you are going through these today.

Some of you have moved to a new state, leaving everything behind, believing this was your next chapter.

Some of you are facing medical situations, anxiously waiting for lab results that could determine your family’s future.

Some of you are waiting for a new job to come through, wondering why it’s taking so long.

Trust me, I know how you feel. These messy middle seasons affect everything at home—finances, routines, health, wellness, and relationships. Now, if only there were a place to help navigate all that at once? Oh wait! YOU FOUND IT!

This is why Schweet Living exists. It’s hard to find a community that shares the same transitional seasons. Often, it feels like everyone else is living their best life while you’re in limbo. But these seasons aren’t just about hard times—they’re also about new engagements, graduations, job accomplishments, having kids, buying a new home, and more.

We’re here to support you in whatever season life has you in right now. There are right next steps for every phase of life, and we’ll help you walk through it all. The strength of your home foundation affects the strength of all other areas of your life.

I hope you can see that I’m about to walk through mine with you. Tell me about yours!

What season are you facing right now?

What lessons are you learning or challenges are you facing?

What season of life has been the most influential to you personally so far?

I want to hear from you! Thanks for supporting me as we move forward together. Until next week!
