Wow, what a week! The Olympics have wrapped up (I'm sooo sad!), summer heat is here, hurricane Debby has come and gone, and here we are with our second edition of the Schweet Living newsletter.
First, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each of you for an incredible launch. Your support and encouragement mean the world to me, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to speak into your lives through Schweet Living.
I just returned from an unforgettable family reunion for my niece’s 5th birthday party. It was epic! We had four generations present, with over 20 family members gathered—many of whom I hadn’t seen since my wedding three years ago.
We had a unicorn sprinkler, a massive bouncy house with water slides, an ice cream cake with edible confetti, and so many Olympic Gold moments that made the day truly special.
But as I look back at all the conversations, and reminiscing over some of my life's best memories, I came to a big realization that I never thought of before. The truth that really stood out to me was, the fact that majority of us all lived and grew up in our small New Jersey town, every one of us has taken a different path in life. Not one of us are living the same type of life; we all have gone our different directions.
Some pursued careers in academia, architecture, government, and entertainment. Some family members announced their retirement, while others were shared their first promotion. Even where we live is in various places from Colorado to Charleston. Some are living a city life and others traded the hustle and bustle in for a rural life living off the land. Even our types of homes are different from apartments to independent living. But what is even more amazing, is how our POVs on life, money and faith also differ.
My point is even though we all had the same beginnings, our current home lives are all vastly different. One of my family members wants to live a purely minimalist life, which is an inspiring endeavor, where my family and I are working to grow a life of abundance. Both of these lives bring freedom, but in different ways.
For me, living abundantly doesn’t mean a life cluttered with stuff or money. It means a life where order thrives, freedom reigns, and purpose leads. An ordered house means structure and schedules guide the day, and every item has a purpose and place. Freedom encompasses both time and money. Purpose drives us to live each day intentionally, striving to achieve more, help more, and serve more.
There’s a prevalent mindset in our world today that it’s wrong to want more—that desiring wealth or abundance is selfish, or that you have to sell your soul to get there. But I believe the opposite is true. It’s good to want abundance. Our country is rich in resources, and there’s no shortage of wealth, health, and relationships to be had.
It’s not unbiblical to seek abundance; in fact, we’re called to live a life of abundance. What’s wrong is hoarding that abundance for ourselves instead of using it to bless others. This is what I call the “Schweet Life”—living against the status quo, against payment culture, against the scarcity and victim mindset. It’s about being prepared for life’s tough seasons, strengthening your home’s foundation from health and organization to planning financially so you can bless not just yourself but the generations to come. To live and bless your community and the generations after you is exactly what abundance was meant to be, and this is what we believe at Schweet Living.
I believe every one of you is called to this life and can absolutely achieve it with the right steps. My family’s diverse paths prove that your past doesn’t dictate your future—only your mindset and actions do.
This is a truth I’m deeply passionate about because I’m tired of seeing people settle for less than they’re capable of. We weren’t meant to accept the norm. Culture might want us to, but I don’t subscribe to that POV.
I believe we’re meant to break the chaos of the status quo, live abundantly, and bless others who haven’t yet reached that point. I hope you choose that life too because you’re meant to be a world-changer.
I cannot wait to see what you do next.
Abundance is not about having more; it’s about appreciating what you have and using it to create a life of purpose and joy."
